Monday, January 4, 2021
 

The Mayor and Town Council met said date in a regular session at 9:00 A.M., in the Pollock Municipal Building, Pollock, Louisiana.  The following members were present:  Mayor Deborah Tumminello., Councilwoman Sharon Zeh, Councilwoman Misty Kinn, Councilman Ron Wilkins, Councilman Carroll Cathey and Councilwoman Dee Thorne.

Mayor Tumminello called meeting to order, led in the “Lord’s Prayer” and Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Tumminello welcomed all guests to the meeting.

Motion made to approve the Public Hearing Minutes of December 7, 2020 by Councilman Wilkins, seconded by Councilwoman Zeh.  5 Yeas 0 Nays, motion carried. Motion was made by Councilwoman Kinn to approve December 7, 2020, Town Council Meeting Minutes, seconded by Councilwoman Thorne. 5 yeas 0 nays, motion carried.

Mayor Tumminello opened meeting to the public. No comments.

Attorney Greg Jones introduced Amendments to Zoning Ordinance. Motion made by Councilman Cathey to Adopt Amended Zoning Ordinance for changes in Vicious Dogs and section 5.01 (6) Residence District Housing, seconded by Councilwoman Thorne.  Roll call vote: 5 yeas, 0 nays, motion carried.

Pan American Engineers were unable to attend.   

Town C.P.A. Mr. Steven McKay was unable to attend.

Town Chief of Police Chris Paul gave out his monthly police report. Need to get in contact with all agencies that enter the airport property at the back gate. We have 6 locks on that gate and Town employees cannot get into the area. Attorney Jones stated he would take care of it.

Supervisor Dezendorf, per Councilman Cathey request, commented on the culvert project. 15 culverts need to be replaced before overly of street project gets underway. Town employees have already installed some of the new culverts. A list of culverts, to be replaced, was given to the Council.

Town Clerk Judy Shelton disseminated the monthly Town of Pollock Financial Report.

Councilmen/Councilwoman comments: Discussion on upgrading Foster Park with new playground equipment and pavilion, once the insurance claim is settled.

Mayor’s Report: Mayor Tumminello reminded Council and town employees of the required Ethics and Preventing Sexual Harassment Trainings. Town Council is also required to submit a Tier3 Financial Disclosure. “Hope everyone had a wonderful and Blessed Christmas and New Year”, stated Mayor Tumminello.

A motion was made by Councilwoman Kinn to adjourn, seconded by Councilwoman Zeh.  Mayor Tumminello called for all in favor to signify by saying yea.  There were five yeas. The motion carried.
