Town Council Meeting Minutes
October 4, 2021

 

The Mayor & Town Council met on said date in a Regular Session at 6 P.M. in the Pollock Municipal Building Council Room, Pollock, La. The following members were present:

Mayor Douglas Beavers, Councilwoman Cynthia Dickey, Councilwoman Misty Kinn, Councilman Mike Cryer, and Councilwoman Dee Thorne. Absent: Councilman Carroll Cathey

Mayor Beavers called the meeting to order by leading the "Lord's Prayer", followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilwoman Kinn.

Mayor Beavers welcomed guests.

Meeting opened for public comments or questions from anyone in attendance.

Motion by Councilwoman Kinn, seconded by Councilwoman Dickey to approve the monthly Meeting Minutes of September 7,2021 town council meeting. Roll call vote: Yeas 4, Nays 0, Abstain 0, Absent 1.  Motion carried.

Motion by Councilwoman Kinn, seconded by Councilwoman Thorne, to approve the Cleco Power LLC Servitude Agreement for a certain tract of land located in Section 28, Township 6 north, Range 1 West.  Roll call vote:  Yeas 4, Nays 0, Abstain 0, Absent 1.  Motion carried.

     Representatives from Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering presented a slide show and information concerning proposed improvements for the Pollock airport.            

     Pan American Engineering representative gave an update on the town wide asphalt overlay project. The project is almost completed.  Pan American representatives, Mayor Beavers and public works director are meeting on October 5, 2021 for inspection of the project and to make a list of things that need to be addressed by the contractor. 

A representative for the Town CPA firm was present and reported that everything was good.  

Town Attorney, Mr. Greg Jones reported on the mask mandate associated with COVID-19 and the number of cases currently being reported as well as the percentage of people that had received the vaccination.                                                                                                                                                                                    

Chief Chris Paul gave a report concerning the Town of Pollock Police Department. There was an accident involving one of his officers. The officer was not at fault.    

 

 

 

 

     Motion by Councilwoman Kinn, seconded by Councilwoman Dickey to adjourn. Roll call vote: Yeas 4, Nays 0, Abstain 0, Absent 1.  Motion carried. Meeting Adjourned.
